kelly-i had recently the same problem on my older whirlpool top load washer...with the help of my 'do-it-yourself'' whirlpool repair manual, it was the 'wig-wag' that was broke...but i went to the appliance parts warehouse here in san diego and it cost me $23.00 and i installed it myself...if u r handy with a multimeter, i can walk u thru the steps 2 check the wig wag...let me know...dreamer...

kelly-i just went thru the parts list for your model # washer and apparently the wig wag isn't used on your type whirlpool washer...i'll check with my supplier here if u want 2morrow & c what they say...they r really sharp & know their parts...not like a sears salesman who don't know...does that sound like a plan?...signed...dweeemer...

If the washer will drain but not spin or agitate even though the motor seems to be running then a broken motor coupler is likely broken.

The motor coupler is part number 285753A and is available from the following link: Motor Coupler .

You can pick it up locally at most appliance parts stores.
