Hi David,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

When a washer trips a breaker it is usually due to a short in the wiring or a bad motor. You did not tell me if the washer will work after resetting the breaker, or where the burning smell was coming from. The first thing I recommend is finding out where the smell came from, the console area or the motor area. Here is a video that will demonstrate gaijning access to the inside of this type washer; Video . Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. This video is for demonstration purposes only. This washer may not look exactly like yours, but the procedure is basically the same.

The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to give you the checks. I highly recommend having a trained service technician evaluate this problem. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

How do I separate the agitator on whirlpool washer LSQ9264HQ0?

A:

To begin with, the dispenser (1) and the cap (23) must be removed. Then you will need to remove the screw (2) and washer (26) underneath the cap. Everything else should just come off when you pull straight up.
