Question and Answers

Q:

how to fix a washer whirlpool/agitator lsn3000pw3

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears, I will be more than happy to assist you with your Whirlpool washer.

Since you’ve taken the first step and replaced the agitator dogs. Which is the more common part to cause this problem. The next step I recommend replacing would be the agitator cam. This will cause the top part of the agitator to turn properly. Here is the part number for the agitator cam 285809.

I hope you found this information helpful. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business.

If you don't have a parts diagram for the washer go to www.searspartsdirect.com and go to the "agitator, basket, and tub" page.

You could have a hole in the outer tub or item 18, the tub seal, might be leaking. You have to remove the outer tub to replace the seal so you can inspect the tub for cracks or holes.

This is a pretty serious repair and if you are not comfortable with it schedule service and get a Sears technician to repair the leak.

Q:

Why is my Whirlpool model LSN3000PW3 not spinning?

A:

When the spin is intermittent then the problem can be with the timer or basket drive/clutch.

If the washer will agitate okay then the motor is most likely okay. If the water is draining out and the washer will not spin then one thing to try is to turn the timer off for moment and then back on and see if the spin will start. If the washer starts to spin then there is no pause from the timer to start the spin.

If the washer is draining but not spinning then try giving the basket a push and see if it will start to spin. This would be caused by a weak basket drive/clutch. The washer might spin empty or with a light load but would not spin with a heavier load.

A broken lid switch would not allow the washer to agitate or spin and is not usually an intermittent problem.

The timer would be a good do-it-yourself repair but the basket drive and clutch will require removing the transmission and this not something I’d suggest you do yourself unless you are extremely confident in you do-it-yourself abilities.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
