A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your washer and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number LSG7804AAE and from what you are describing it seems like the timer is bad or missing some teeth from the gear wheel. One way of knowing if the timer is bad is by doing what you did by advancing it manually. I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair.

Timer PART NUMBER: 22001180

Q:

Takes over 2 hours to dry LSG7804AAE Maytag Maytag stack laundry

A:

The exhaust temperature measured at the exhaust vent is about normal. I recommend that you check the lint screen. Even though the lint may be cleaned off, you could have a build-up of fabric softener residue that is difficult to see. This will inhibit air flow and cause the long dry times. Wash that lint screen with water and a soft bristle brush. Allow it to dry completely. Check the exhaust air path from the back of the dryer to the outside of the home. You may have a build up of lint in that system.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

A:

The vents were just cleaned inside and from the roof, so the vent contractor suggested I put my hand over the lint filter with the dryer running to check air flow. I feel no air flow or suction at all. When I feel at the back there is heat that rises into the unit, but no airflow there either. Is there a way to check for total blockage inside the unit, or does this indicate that the blower itself is not working? I have a multimeter; are there voltages or switch shorts/opens to check for?
