Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't my washer agitate or spin but will fill and drain the water?

A:

Your symptom indicates a broken motor coupler. The motor coupler is a component that connects the motor to the transmission.

In order to access the motor coupler will require removing the washer cabinet. The console must be put in the service position in order to gain access to the cabinet retaining clips and lid switch wire harness connector. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord before placing the console in the service position.

Remove each screw (key#49) located at the bottom of the console end caps. After you removed the two (2) screws, slide the console towards you and then raise it up and it will hinge over the rear panel. Disconnect the lid switch wire harness connector and pop the two (2) cabinet clips off.

I added images with instructions on how to replace the motor coupler. Part #285753A (motor coupler)
