Q:

LG Model # LSC27910TT no longer cools or freezes? LSC27910TT

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your refrigerator and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number lsc27910tt and from the description, it sounds like the main board has failed. The main board # 6871JB1410N controls everything and if it fails, the unit goes dead. This board can be located either on top of the cabinet or behind it. Here is a link that may further help your troubleshooting. If you have a meter and know how to use it, I would begin testing the boards and verifying if they are receiving power or not. If you are unsure on testing the unit do not attempt. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thank you, Sherman G: I've discovered a few things since I posed this question. I have good power to the unit. The front control panel responds, the cooling fan comes on, interior lights in both compartments as well as the circulating fans function. The overload protector/starter relay clicks on and off and seems to be okay (no rattling or odors). The compressor, however, gets warm to the touch so I'm pretty sure it's getting juice. Unfortunately, it doesn't start or run. The overload and relay, housed together in a small plastic box and plugged into the side of the compressor, apparently come packaged only with the compressor and can't be purchased separately. So, I'm thinking I have to replace the compressor. Your thoughts? Gary Hansen Denver, CO
