Question and Answers

Q:

The Motor LSB6000LQ0 Whirlpool Washer

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Whirlpool Washer model number LSB6000LQ0.

With the motor out you should be able to turn the shaft.   The shaft turns then that is a good sign.   I have below how to test the motor to your washing machine.

TESTING MOTOR:
1.  Make sure that you disconnect power to the washing machine by unplugging it from the wall or by the fuse box.

2.  Locate the 2 wire leads that connect to the motor housing and remove them by unplugging them from the motor.

3.  Turn the dial on the multimeter or select the appropriate button for the RX1 setting on the multimeter.   This will test resistance.

4.  Place one probe from the meter onto each of the metal tabs on the motor that were exposed by unplugging the wires.

5.  Read your multimeter.  Th reading should show an "O" or a very low number.  If it does, the motor coils are functional.  If it shows a high number or "infinite", it will indicate the motor is defective.

Q:

my washer I origanaly had a broken motor coupling I replaced it and for 1 loads the washer worked fine, now im looking at the transmission. ++++++++++++++++++ lsb6000lq0

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help you with the washer. Upon researching model lsb6000lq0 I show there is a clutch on top of the transmission. The clutch works with the agitation. Goes one direction then reverses a couple turns. Once it hits its point it turns the other direction. It seems what your doing is hitting the point where it would go back fourth for agitation.

If you have any further questions please repost. Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your washer and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number lsb6000lq0 and from your description it seems like the motor is beginning to failed or something that is making the motor work harder than it should. When a motor is failing it will work until it gets hot then shutoff. Usually letting the motor completely cool off will work. I recommend testing the motor and main drive switch on the motor. Here is a link for a video that will help. I hope this information helps with your troubleshooting. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.
