Q:

black screen LNT4053H Samsung Tv lcd

A:

The black screen in the television can be very frustrating. I did some research on your model number but was not able to find a solution. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take two business days. I do hope that everything works out on the television. I added a link below to Sears Home Services in case you would like to take that route.

Hello Kim,

I'm sorry to hear that the lower half of your television has lost it's image and I would like to assist you. An issue like this usually occurs within the panel (screen) and is not repairable. There are some internet DIY's, but they are haphazard at best and usually are for a different panel issue. I suggest replacing the television, a new panel will cost around $500 plus installation and the set could be replaced for that amount. These televisions usually last longer, and it is unusual to have one fail so early in life, so I would not fear replacing it with a similar one.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.

Q:

Why does my TV just click for a while before actually turning on?

A:

I think the model is more likely a LNT4053H. It sounds like you are describing a problem with the TV's power supply. This problem tends to gradually get worse. You may notice that it takes longer to turn on than it used to and that turning it on during the day after it has already been on is not a problem. Your symptom may be a little different but the fact that it clicks a few times before coming on suggests that it should be the first thing to check.

I recommend having a technician take a look at your TV. If he can spot faulty capacitors in the supply it would save you having to replace the board entirely. Unfortunately the problem could be something else that needs to be seen by someone with experience so that's another reason I would suggest service. Find a local repair shop or a company that provides home service like Sears .
