LCD Display LN52A850S1FXZA Samsung Lcd television

A:

Thank you for contacting Searspartsdirect.com with your question about your television. I am sorry you are having issues with you TV. I know the TV is a key part of our daily lives and know you want to get it working as soon as possible. We are unable to give any information on televisions. In this case I would recommend having a qualified technician test and repair your television. Internal components of the TV can retain dangerous high electrical charges even when the TV is disconnected. So as a safety precaution we do not give advice on repairing TVs. If you wish to have service set up you can do so at www.searshomeservices.com.

Thank you for your understanding of the situation. Again thank you for choosing Sears we appreciate your business.

Working on a TV can be difficult and dangerous due to the high voltage circuits inside. Always remember to unplug any TV before trying to service it and if unsure of the proper procedures, seek the service of a trained professional.

Hello Dan,

I'm sorry to hear that your television is making noise and I would like to assist you.  Noises like the one described are usually created on the power supply board.  It has been my experience that televisions that are affected by an issue like this are able to run indefinitely with this condition.  Replacement of the board is the usual course of action and most of the time people learn to live with it due to the cost.  If you do decide to have the board replaced, I recommend having a professional television technician perform the diagnosis and repair.  Any circuit boards that are not installed by a service technician will have the warranty voided.  I suggest contacting a local service company or following this link: Sears Home Services, to arrange an appointment.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.

Thanks Jerry, Good advice. I did call Samsung & also posted this same question on their website. The only suggestion, of course, from each was to immediately arrange a service visit from a Samsung-authorized service Company. They even had one call me for an appointment after I said I would wait to do that! The phone rep said they get this advice from their Trouble-Shooting book. They wouldn´┐Ż??t give me access to it nor a Service Manual. They directed me to a Samsung webpage were I could buy one. I know you also directed me to Service at Sears but your comment about TVs being able to run indefinitely with this condition is giving me much relief. The TV is almost 5 years old & off warranty but still looks great. I decided to hold off on any service for now since I just discovered the recent louder refrigerator hum drowns out the TV hum. ;o) Thanks again, Jerry! Dan
