Question and Answers

Q:

Fuzzy picture LN46A500T1FXZA Samsung Tv lcd

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your television. I am so sorry the picture is fuzzy. I know the TV is a key part of our daily lives and know you want to get it fixed quickly. In this case, I recommend you have the TV repaired by a qualified technician.

We do not give repair advice on televisions because internal components in the TV can retain a dangerously high electrical charge, even when the TV is disconnected from the power supply. Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your home repairs but in this case, for your safety, we recommend you have the TV serviced. To set up service go to www.SearsHomeServices.com or call 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I hope we can help you with any future repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

A:

I have a similar issue with the TV randomly changing input from component TV, to Antennae, to HDMI, etc. AND it automatically changes volume up and down. So far that is the extent of the TV having a mind of its own. I had considered taking off the back and seeing if it is possible to simply unplug the manual controls on the side for these functions...really never use them (use remote). Picture is great, just this problem.

A:

Pat, The problem can be the keypad on the side of the TV or the main board itself. On some TV's the remote commands are routed through the keypad. So unhooking the keypad might not let the remote work. The model number of your TV would be needed to know how the TV is wired.
