Question and Answers

Q:

How do I install a replacement microwave door?

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. If you think it may be cost effective to just replace the unit, I have also provided a link to the Microwave section of Sears.com to price out what a replacement would cost.

Thank you for your question.

Replacing a door on most appliances is no big deal but a microwave is not the usual appliance. Replacing the door is a repair that should only be completed by a service technician. The door would involve removing the microwave shielding components. A technician will need to remove the door and reassemble the unit. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the door using proper testing equipment before the microwave can be safely returned to service.

I recommend calling a service technician to install the door. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

I looked at that part in our parts information system. It is the only grill vent part listed for LG microwave model LMV2083SW. As you indicated above, that grill should be white and should fit your microwave. I am glad that you got the answer that you needed.

If you need more help, let us know.
