Question and Answers

Q:

have a lg lmv 1680ww microwave.

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. If you think it may be cost effective to just replace the unit, I have also provided a link to the Microwave section of Sears.com to price out what a replacement would cost.

Changing the inside light could cause leaks and many more issues. These are all extremely dangerous. I hope you understand our policy on microwaves. Our number one concern is your safety. It is strongly recommended to have the microwave repaired by a service technician. You can have the microwave repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Replacing the fuse sounds like a simple job but nothing on a microwave is simple.

Microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a lethal electrical charge of up to 2200 VAC -- even when the microwave is unplugged. Repairs and adjustments, even minor ones such as , can cause microwave leakage. A microwave shielding leakage test should be performed after any microwave service. It is for these safety reasons that we are unable to guide you in microwave repairs and instead recommend scheduling service with a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME. We thank you for your understanding in this matter and hope we can help you with other questions and repairs in the future.

How to install Handle of Microwave LMV1680WW?

A:

The instructions are not published for safety concerns. We can not provide the instructions or assist you in taking the door apart. A microwave radiation shielding test must be performed following any internal component repair or door repair. This is the reason why we insist that you contact a service technician to diagnose and repair this microwave problem. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
