Question and Answers

Q:

AMANA Gas Dryer Shuts Off LGA90AW-PLGA90AW Amana Dryer

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I'm sorry to hear of the intermittently running dryer, I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

I suspect the problem will be with the motor.  If the motor has to sit and cool before it will restart, this is an indication of the motor overheating and shutting off on the motor thermal overload. This can be caused by the motor being covered in lint or a low voltage supply to the motor. Check and clean the motor of lint and see if it runs normally. The thermal overload is inside the motor and is not replaceable. Make sure to disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing the dryer.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-349-5071, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

AMANA Gas Dryer Shuts Off LGA90AW-PLGA90AW Amana Dryer

Q:

Why does my Dryer squeak/squeal? LGA90AW-PLGA90AW Amana Dryer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the dryer noise.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Amana model number lga90aw-plga90aw.

1.  The most obvious reason is the belt starting to go bad.

2.  seal in front of tub

3.  Seal in rear of tub

4.  Under the tub is roller wheels that the tub rests on and will start to squeal or thump when they go bad.

You can go to www.partsdirect.com and see all the parts there.   Most likely it is the belt starting to go.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com
