I can fully appreciate your desire to remedy this ice build up issue you're having.  From what you described the defrost drain trough is frozen up.  Or something might be occluding it from draining properly. I have located a link that will discuss your situation in more detail.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the ice buildup. The information you have received is very good. This does appear to be a drain blockage. Getting the back panel out in this model can be difficult and may require a technician. Everything including the drawer will need to be removed. Follow the owner's manual to remove the drawer. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will assist you further.

Having a Refrigerator with a ice maker is a very good investment because that means you don't have to buy ice anymore. A suggestion I have while you are waiting on an expert, I found some general answers in the Manage My Life website that can help you. I attached the link below. Hope this helps!

I can understand your frustration with water leaking and having to defrost it. The information you have received is good but a bottom mount will be a little different. The problem will be due to, the drain being frozen. To clear the drain, first disconnect power to the unit. Now take everything in the freezer out, so the back panel can be removed. Remove the screws holding the panel in place. With the panel out, you will see the evaporator and directly under it the drain. Clear the ice from the drain, until you can see the drain hole. Now use hot water to clear the drain, until the water runs down into the bottom drain pan. This can take awhile depending on how deep the ice formed in the drain. I hope this will help you.
