Question and Answers

Q:

dryer making loud noise LET6634AW2 Whirlpool Electric dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears, I will be more than happy to assist you with your Whirlpool dryer.

I recommend first checking the belt off the unit. This is the most common reason for noise and burnt smell. If you notice any slits or broken pieces on the belt it should be replaced. Another thing to check will be the support rollers. There’s two, one on each side of the drum. The rollers have little rubber parts around the wheel. These might be grinding down the rubber causing the smell and the noise. Its recommended to switch out both rollers if you replace them.

I hope you found this information helpful. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business. Have a nice day.

A:

The model number does come up and I have a parts list and a wiring diagram so I should be able to help you with this problem.

A few more details would be helpful. I am not sure what you mean when you say it only will dry a few minutes.

Does the motor continue to run? Does it do the same in Timed Dry and Automatic or does it work in one cycle but not the other?

Give my a reply with a few more details for assistance with this problem.
