Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the dishwasher.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your LG Dishwasher model number  LDS 5811BB.

Just to be sure.   Please turn off the fuse box and after 10 seconds or so please turn it back on.

Next please open the door and then close the door a little harder than normal to make sure it is a tight seal.

There are 2 main possibilities and that is the lid switch or the main control board.   Being that you smelled an electric burn smell, it would lead me to believe you need a new control board but would check the lock switch for the door first since that is the easiest to check and cost less.

no power when pressing the on off button, and no codes came up lds 5811bb

The washer has a lid switch that is extremely sensitive. Check the connections under the front panel. Look to the far right under the bunch of wires. There you'll see a connection that has a green ground wire coming from them.to the right is, refer to the diagram of top and cabinet. The wire that is connected to the lid switch is located under the cabinet, but you only to need to go under if the wires are all tight from the top. RE:part #38, #8 & #11 http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-11022032100/0582/0153200/P0012377/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod= The other possibility is in the control panel itself. They don't make that model any longer due to all the problems they have with the circuit board. One possible remedy is to unplug the washer for at least and hour to reset it. That is the only reset there is. I know, reallllly weak design. I own this washer and believe me, I have ran the gamut o repairs, all easy fixes that would run into hundreds of dollars if you listen to the 'expert's' advice. They always want you to buy replacement parts when too often the only investment necessary is your time, or someone that is a little handy with small repairs. I have employed the help of my father, with whom I live, and we always get the job done in no time and have only had to replace one hose. ::)) There are some excellent videos on YouTube to guide you in repairing or diagnose issues. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Kenmore+Washermodel+%2311022032100+elite&sm=3 It is a very temperamental machine. I believe a lot of the issues are a result of the moisture collected under the cabinet, near the control board. I try to keep the area around it as dry as possible, and periodically check for any possible leaks. I had the hot water valve leak once, and I know it was the culprit for the machine turning off and on at will.....It actually turned off and then back on a couple times in the middle of the night! G'Luck!

Q:

drain pump does not shut off when cycle is complete LDS5811BB Lg Dishwasher

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there are problems with the dishwasher.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your LG model number lds5811bb.

First thing in these dishwashers when the drain pump continually runs is that the dishwasher still senses water in it.  Please check the water on the bottom under the cavity. If you see it with water then dry it well using a sponge, or paper towel.   May have to take the lower spray arm off and clean dry around the heating element too.

Most likely to take care of this once and for all is to replace the float switch in the dishwasher.

I have the switch on the link below.  I have it and should look at the float assembly too.
