The ignitor are fragile but the usual cause of the ignitor not glowing is the thermal fuse and I would suggest you check the thermal fuse for continuity with the meter. Remember to unplug the dryer first. If you can please reply with a model number I may be able to offer further assistance.

This particular gas dryer doesn't use a thermal fuse. The diagram bellow my be helpful to you. If the ignitor is not glowing then the problem might be the radiant sensor or thermostats. Do you have a meter to measure voltage or continuity? If you have a meter and don't feel comfortable using it let me know and we will suggest other parts to check.
