You should not have to pry on the top of the housing to remove it. Remove the 2 screws in the center which will make 9 screws to remove.

One of the screws hold a bracket that holds the water tube to the pump housing. Release the water tube from a clip on the rear wall and one on the top of the tub. This will free the sump mesh for removal.

I know there is a base on this unit so it may be difficult to tell if the circulation motor is running.

One trick is to place cups in each corner of the racks and run a cycle. After a few minutes check if the cups have any water in them.

If the motor is not running make sure the door is shut all the way.

There might also be a loose connection at the motor.

Check if the drain motor will run. If the drain motor runs then the door switches are okay.

This is an extremely difficult dishwasher to work on. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

You can reply with any additional details or questions and we'll try to assist you further with this problem.
