This is a great old dryer. The most likely cause of the problem is the shut off solenoid or push button switch. Unfortunately neither is available any longer. Some parts like the belt and motor are available but the push button switch and solenoid are no longer available. You can unplug the dryer and remove the screws from along the top of the console. With the screws removed the control panel will come out and you can visually check the switch and solenoid. You might find a broken wire or bad connection but replacement of the dryer is your best option since key parts are no longer available for purchase.
