A:

Maytag has been through many changes in the last few years. Whirlpool (Kenmore) bought Maytag and has slowly converted Maytag products into Whirlpool/Kenmore products. Many of the older manuals are no longer available.

If the top doesn't come off then check the bottom of the front panel for two screws. They should be about 2-3 inches up from the floor near the edges of the front panel. Remove the screws and pull out and up on the front panel. When you get the front panel up about 90 degrees the two clips holding the top of the panel should release.

With the front panel off you will see two bolts holding the top down.

Check for the two screws on the front panel and see if you can get the front panel off.

If there are no screws then please reply with what you find for further assistance.
