Question and Answers

What is wrong with my Whirlpool model LCR5232DQ2 washer when it doesn't spin but it does wash?

From the description you give most likely the "splutch" and/or drive pulley is the cause of this problem.

When this particular washer goes into a spin the "splutch" slides down and engages the main drive pulley. The clicking you hear is most likely caused by the splutch not engaging the drive pulley.

This particular washer is not very do-it-yourself friendly and I'd recommend a technician check and repair this problem. The image below contains the instructions to access the splutch and you can read through the instructions and see if this is something you'd be comfortable doing yourself.

The parts breakdown and any parts you need can be obtained from the following link: SearsParts Direct .

The parts are not very expensive but I would suggest a technician check and repair this problem.
