Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with your television and I would like to assist you. I would like the model number from the sound bar and the exact method of connection. This may be an issue with the new component being installed, versus an actual fault with the television.

I look forward to assisting you further.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply and the additional information. The first thing that I would like you to do is to completely unplug the sound bar from the television and also from the power outlet. Unplug the television overnight too and then try the television by itself the next day. This will eliminate the potential for the sound bar causing an issue due to faulty grounds and the like. If this does not solve the issue it is likely to be the television.

A 3-3 blink code denotes a failure on the main board and we need to be certain that this is the code that you are seeing. It will blink three times and then pause. If it blinks in any other pattern it is very important to know.

Please let me know what you find and I'll be happy to assist you further.

Hello,

That is great news so far. There are two more things that I would like you to consider; waiting a few days and watching the television to see if the issue comes back, without the sound bar hooked up and the other issue is that there is most likely an improper ground creating this problem. The ground issue could be the entire cause of what you are describing and I have witnessed this strange phenomena many times and it is difficult to isolate and then correct. The two main ways that I have ran into this are incorrect wiring or grounding on the outlet that the entire system is connected to and 10 or above AC Volts coming in on a signal source like the coax cable that runs to a cable box. Electricity will always attempt to find the easiest way to ground itself and can and will take some strange paths to do it. If you would like to attempt to test for this issue and have a multimeter available, I will be happy to walk you through the tests. You will be testing for live 110VAC line voltage, so if you are not experienced or comfortable with this, seek the service of a professional technician.

I think that what is happening in your case is that the sound bar is either being used as a ground by the entertainment system, or it is developing the "stray" voltage and it is passing through parts of the main control board of the television seeking a ground, effectively confusing and locking up the microcontroller and causing the seemingly temporary failure that you described prior. Again, this is difficult to detect and many technicians of all disciplines are unaware of the potential for this issue.

Please let me know what you find and if you would like to check for incorrect grounds or voltages.

Thank you Jerry for the information . I work for a electric company " Warren Electric corp." and we check for leakage to ground and some other test on the electric heaters we make . The sound bar amplifier or audio impedancy. I not know ! What is puzzling is the tv only freezes on channel 21.4 where there is no signal maybe the frequency , I not know. So far the tv is working good without the sound bar . I will keep you posted . Thank you for your help .

Hello,

Thank you for the update, it is very good to hear that the television is still going strong. I speculate that the reason for the channel being specific has to do with the likely induced frequency pulse that the leakage is causing. Micro controllers operate on a known clock speed from a crystal or other predictable device. Change the pulse rate and all kinds of unpredictable and odd things start to happen. Keep me posted.
