From the description of the problem I suspect the timer is at fault. If the washer will fill, agitate, drain and spin in certain cycles but will not in others then the timer is usually at fault. The 22001638 timer is available from the following site: Timer for Maytag Washer Model LAT8705AAE . If you have a few basic tools and feel comfortable with such projects this can be a good do-it-yourself project. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
