From the description you give I suspect the water pressure switch is bad and will need to be replaced.

A possibility is the pressure how is kinked, blocked or has a small hole preventing the air pressure from tripping the switch as the water rises.

You don't give a lot of detail but I assume the water will stop filling when the washer is turned off. If the water won't stop till the spigot is turned off then the valve is the problem.

One thing to try/check first is the hose on the pressure switch. Remember to unplug the washer first.

There are a couple of screws on top of the console. With these removed the control panel can be pulled forward and out to access the pressure switch.

With the tub empty you can remove the hose and try to blow through it towards the tub. You should be able to blow without to much trouble. You might even hear some bubbles from the sump. This will clear any blockage that the air dome might have. You can hook the hose back up and give it another try.

If the problem continues then the 207361 pressure switch would be available from the following site: Sears PartsDirect .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this information is helpful to you in resolving this problem.

Sorry about the lack of info, this is my first time at this site(it's really great!) The water does not stop filling when i turn the washer off. I have to turn the valve in the wall off to keep it from overflowing. So from your answer above i need to replace the water inlet valve, right? Do you have a part number for it? Thanks so much for your help.
