Question and Answers

Q:

adjust maytag washer timer stem

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

First, I will need to know the first two (digits) of the serial number in order to verify if you have the correct timer or not. Part number 22002184 is used for series 10. The series number is the first two digits of the serial number. The series number is critical to have when ordering parts or you can order the wrong timer. Look on the original timer and see if it has the same part number on it. It is very possible that you may have the incorrect timer.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post along with the complete serial number and all the numbers on the old original timer.

Thanks for the response Joey. The model number is 150831625F. Our dial has OFF at 12 o'clock, then super wash, regular wash, lite wash, a blank space, rinse and finally spin then off. This timer is starting to fill and wash while in the OFF position and completes the entire super wash cycle but does not advance past the lite wash cycle. If you put the washer on regular wash cycle is seems like it is doing the rinse cycle. Thanks again for your help.

ibevil2348: The serial number you added "150831625F" would indicate you have series 15 washer. Based on the series number, you have the wrong timer. You need timer part #22002202 and that would explain why the cycles are off.

That's what I thought. The timer Sears sent me was a 22002184. What's my next step? Order the correct one then return the incorrect one or return the incorrect one and wait until Sears sends the correct one? Takes 5-7 business days.
