Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your washer not rinsing properly. We are here to help. The washer not filling with water indicates, no cold water or a bad timer. To determine which part is needed, a simple test should be done. All you need to do is, change the water temperature to cold. Next, start a cycle and check if the cold water is filling the washer. If the washer fill properly on cold in the beginning of a cycle, I suspect there is no voltage to the valve during the rinse cycle. That indicates a bad contact inside the timer. Replacing the timer should solve the problem. The part number for the timer is 207373. The image below should help you replace the timer. However, if there is little or no cold water filling the washer during the test, I suspect a kink in the cold water hose or a clogged screen. Before you clean the screen, unplug the washer. Nest, turn off the cold water at the faucet and remove the hose from the washer. Now, look inside the valve and remove the screen and clean it. Once the screen is cleaned, reinstall it and attach the hose. Turn on the washer and verify the problem is fixed. If that did not solve the cold water fill problem, replace the mixing valve. I hope this helps.

Q:

What would cause my Maytag washer model LAT3910AAW to sometimes over fill?

A:

If the water stops, when the timer is pushed in that would indicate a problem in the water level switch or the pressure hose. The pressure hose is a small hose that connects to the pressure switch on one end and the wash to on the other. You will need to access the hose and inspect it for holes. Then remove the hose from the pressure switch and blow in to it. The hose should be clear. If the hose is fine you most likely need to replace the pressure switch.

If the water does not shut off when the timer is pushed in you will need to replace the water valve.

I have provided you with a set of instructions of how to access the components of the washer.
