Q:

Dishwasher not washing KUDS01DLSS2 Kitchenaid Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I must assume the dishwasher is filling with water and the wash motor is running. If the dishwasher is not filling with enough water and/or the wash impeller is damaged, the wash impeller is not going to move/pump enough water to the spray arms in order to clean dishes or dissolve the detergent.

There is also a chopper assembly and disc with a lot of little holes in the chopper blade disc which can become restricted and reduce water flow to the wash impeller which will reduce the pump pressure.

You may need to replace the chopper blade if chopper blades are damaged. You may also need to replace the wash impeller with an impeller kit.

Also make sure the dishwasher is filling with enough water as it did when new.

I added a link to Searspartsdirect.com where you can view the parts diagram for your Kitchen aid dishwasher model KUDS01DLSS0.

In order to remove and replace the wash impeller and water seal will require removing the wash motor assembly.

I added a link to Searspartsdirect.com where you can view the parts diagram for your Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDS01DLSS0.

The wash impeller is part #8193951  and the chopper blade assembly is part #8268383 .

In order to remove and replace the wash impeller and water seal will require removing the wash motor assembly.

Please click on the following link for images with instructions.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

What is wrong with my KitchenAid model KUDS01DLSS2 dishwasher when the control doesn't work but it will do a 2 minute drain cycle?

A:

There is a diagnostic cycle that can be run but if the control is not working you most likely won't be able to run the test.

More detail about the problem would help but if the unit will drain for two minutes then the door switches and thermal fuse are okay.

The image below contains the instructions to enter and run the diagnostic cycle.

If the keypads don't respond check the lock emblem is not illuminated. If you press the on the Air Dry keypad and hold it the control lock light should toggle on or off.

If certain keypads don't respond then most likely the console/interface has a shorted or stuck keypad.

I'd recommend a technician check and repair this problem but if you feel comfortable doing a little do-it-yourself the 2nd image shows how to remove the console and access the control and the ribbon connector. A visual check might turn up something and something else to try is to remove the ribbon and reconnect it with hopes of a better connection.

I hope this information helps resolve this problem but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
