Question and Answers

Q:

how hot should the water get in my dishwasher KUDP02CRBS1 Kitchenaid Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model KUDP02CRBS1; the water should be about 140 degrees.  Run the sink faucet before using the dishwasher. This will allow the water to get hot before using.

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Q:

Door falls open KUDP02CRBS1 Kitchenaid Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. From what you are describing, it sounds like either the spring or the rope guide is damaged and needs to be replace. This is what the door uses for tension. The image below will show you how to access and fix this part. The door springs are connected at one end to the door link and then to the door hinge and other end of the spring is connected to the frame. You can access the door springs by removing the lower toe panel and access panel. You can look at the door spring that is still intact to see where the ends of the door spring attaches. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can Click Here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Hope this information has help you, any further questions or concerns. You will have to post a new question because at this time I can not reply to any comments. Again, Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Kitchenaid dishwasher door spring is broken

A:

Dishwashers are great conveniences. I did not realize they had a rope pull for the door. I see that someone else asked a similar question. I attached the link below. The model number may not match yours, so if you have the model handy and enter it at the Sears Parts Direct link below, you will be able to view and order parts specific to your dishwasher. This may help while you wait for the expert to answer. Hope this helps!

I am sorry you are having problems with your dishwasher. In your question you did not include a model number. I see Barbara H has given you a link to a answered question that is similar to the answer I am going to give you. I will give you the information that covers most kitchen aid dishwashers. I have provided you with an image of how the door link should be connected. The easiest way to access, the link is to uninstall the dishwasher. I have been able to replace the links by removing the dishwasher mounting screws from the counter top and sliding the dishwasher out part way. Doing it this way depends on how long the electric cord and water lines are. Once the side of the dishwasher is exposed, you should be able to follow the image below to install the new link. If you need further information, please include more details along with a model number. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Model KUDS01DJSP. How do I attach the white plastic rope guide? It fell on the floor and now the door falls all the way down when open. I took the bottom access panel off and see a rope dangling on one side. The other side looks still attached around pulleys. The picture you included shows a spring attaching the the rope. My model has ropes/pulleys on both side but I see no spring. When you say to install new rope guide, what do you mean? The white plastic piece that fell on the floor (rope guide?) is smooth on both sides and I cannot determine how to attach it? Is there a different picture for my model - (no spring?). The white plastic piece has a mpart # on it: 8270022. After reading a few more answers, I'm wondering if the "spring" I caanot see runs from the front to the back along both sides, and all I'm seeing are the tensioners and pulleys. Is that correct? Can I replace just the white plastic guide (is that the tensioner?) without pulling the entire dishwasher out and messing with the spring? Thanks so much for your help.

Thank you for the reply. The door link (rope) has an eyelet on one end. This end hooks onto the spring. The other end of the spring connects towards the back of the frame. About the only way to connect, the link is to pull the dishwasher out of the hole because it is hard to connect the back end of the spring when you cannot see the hole in the frame. If the link has come off most lkely the spring has come off the frame. I have posted an image below that should be helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark T.
