From what you're describing it sounds like the wash motor is causing the noise. If the impeller or housing is cracked the motor will most likely be noisy while running. The drain motor is a separate motor & is not part of the wash motor. I recommend removing the wash motor & checking the impeller & housing.

Remember to disconnect power to the dishwasher before attempting access.
