Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dishwasher not starting. We are here to help. Alina did provide you a good link on this problem. This dishwasher may have one or two problems. No water indicates a possible stuck float. Just open the door and slide the bottom rack on to the door. Next, Just lift the float up and down several times. Now put everything back in place and try the dishwasher. If that did not fix the water problem, it may be part of the user interface problem. The start button not staying lite, and the dishwasher selecting the rinse cycle on its own indicates that. The part number for the user interface is 8531262. Once the user inter face is replaced, the control panel should work properly. If there is still no water, verify the dishwasher water supply is turned on. Next, select a cycle and start. Once the dishwasher is started, measure for 120 vac to the water inlet valve with a multimeter. If the voltage is present and still no water, the valve is stuck. The water inlet valve needs to be replaced. No voltage indicate a break in the wires to the valve or a problem with the electronic control. The image below will help you replace the user interface and check the float. I hope this helps.

Make sure that the dishwasher is filling properly. The water level should be within 1/4" to just touching the bottom of the heating element. I recommend that you check that issue first.

Since the motor is noisy and you are not getting adequate spray pressure, it is likely that you will need to replace the pump and motor assembly (part W10239405). Here is a Sears PartsDirect.com link for that part: Pump motor .

The procedure for replacing the pump/motor assembly is shown in the image below. Be sure that you shut off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher before beginning this procedure.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
