Question and Answers

Q:

my dishwasher will not drain, it just hums

A:

A dishwasher that won't drain would be a concern. I located two previous expert posts that may help. The second link has an attachment for your model with some checks you can make. Hope some of this information is helpful while you wait for the expert.

Will it wash? It may be the motor is jammed. The image below will show how to get into the sump of the dishwasher to check the drain impeller.

Try this and reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

I need a large image for the sump on a Kenmore model 665.1325. The pump or motor hums but will not drain and want to check for a clogged impeller.

I am sorry for the small images. The image below may blow up better for you. Remove the spray arm. The top filter cover is held in place by 8 screws. Remove the screws and lift the filter to access the impeller. Try turning the impeller to see if it is stuck. I hope this helps.

Q:

Why does my dishwasher move through the cycles (knob turns), but does not perform?

A:

It sounds like what your describing is a seized up pump/motor assembly. You may still have some broken glass lodged down in the pump somewhere. I would recommend checking the motor shaft to see if it is moving freely. You can turn the motor by turning the impeller. If the motor is not seized up on anything, I would recommend checking for the correct voltage to the motor. Please see the attached images for more information.
