Question and Answers

Q:

how do I install a dishwasher gasket?

A:

Replacing gaskets can be tricky. The directions often depend on the model of dishwasher. If you can add the model number to this thread, it will help the expert provide a better answer.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. I will be happy to provide instructions if I knew what type of dishwasher you have.

Reply with the model number of your dishwasher for model specific instructions.

I have a new gasket to install in my Kitchen Aid dishwasher (model number KUDI01TJWH0), but there's no diagram on the packaging. It seems fairly simple, but I'm not sure which side gets pushed into the space and which end will face out. I wasn't able to figure it out from the picture on the site.

Erin: I added an image below that should help. The white stripe should be visible once installed. If it leaks after installing, take it out and install the other way.

Thank you for your reply. After I posted my question I clicked on the image you provided from an earlier inquiry and realized that the picture was enlarged if you click on it. I have an older model, and the gasket I received doesn't have a white strip. I belive I actually just got the old gasket after comparing it with your picture. Regardless, I will run a load and watch for leaks, and as you said, flip it around if it leaks. Thank you for your quick response!
