Question and Answers

Q:

I purchased a part, #W10179427 for my KitchenAid dishwasher and I need to get instructions on how to replace this part.

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when needing to replace the seal on your Dishwasher. May I ask what seal did you purchase? Is it the door seal? I checked to see if I could find that part number in your model number and I do apologize I was not able to locate the same part number. I did find that your door seal is part number 8268888. Click here to view the link on how to install the door seal.

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Thanks for your response. The person who I worked with via a chat told me the part # was 8269110 and that #W10179427 was the substitute part number. Please let me know if this part will part for model # KUDI01TJBL0. Yes, this is the door seal.

Okay I am showing that as the cabinet seal and not the door seal. The door seal part number is 8268888.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. Alina has provided you with good information. The cover is likely stuck with hard water minerals. You'll need to be forceful with it. Here is a video that demonstrates removing the inlet protector. Make sure to remove all power to the dishwasher before performing any repairs or checks. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. The dishwasher in this video may not look exactly like yours but the procedure is basically the same. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Not starting and not finishing a cycle can be two different problems.  Two main control boards did not fix the problem.  First confirm you can select all cycles and options.  This will confimr the console is working okay.  What do you have to do to restart the dishwasher?  A door popping open can cause the dishwasher to stop mid-cycle.  to start I suggest you try to enter and run the diagnostic test listed in the image below.  You can reply below with any additional details or questions.  You can also have the unit repaired in your home by a Sears technician.  Herer is the link for that: Sears Home Services Dishwasher Repair

Many Thanks... I'll look that over... I have noticed 2 different problems with the two different control boards. With the original board, I started by re-soldering all of the connector points. No real change... BUT, when I use this control board, it runs a complete cycle - once. The next time I try and run the dishwasher, I can select all of the cycles and drying options, but it won't start. I did a load of dishes with a "Substitute" board, over the weekend. It ran a complete cycle but now has the "Heavy Cycle" light flashing. I had run it on "Normal Cycle" and "Energy Saver DRY" I believe with the other "Substitute" board, it will run about to the point for draining the washer and drying and then stop with panel lights flashing... It's confusing... BUT, I've gotten to the point where I can breaker it off, change the board and have it back on line in 10 minutes flat... Thank you; Rick
