That component in your picture appears to be part of the dispenser lever.

Thanks Lyle. The model # is KSSP36QHB00. The piece screws into the end of dispenser arm and does not seem to be in the diagram or picture of the part (from several different sites). Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for adding that model number Tom. I will check with the manufacturer regarding that part. It appears to be a separate production component on that lever that is now integrated into the replacement part. I will update this thread once I hear back from the manufacturer (Whirlpool/KitchenAid).
