Question and Answers

Q:

ice dispenser is frozen and will not dispense ice-again KSRP25FTBT02 Kitchenaid Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
I am sorry to hear that the ice dispenser is frozen over on this Kitchenaid, it sounds as if this has been a continuous issue for you, I know how frustrating these types of issues can be.
The most common reasons on why the ice dispenser would freeze would be if there is an issue with the door gasket, allowing warmer air to mix in with cooler air and create condensation that eventually freezes solid. It could also be that the dispenser ice door doesn't close completely, and again allows warmer air to mix with the cooler air to cause the freezing. The other possibility would be a consistent opening of the freezer door for extended periods allowing the same issue to occur.
I would start by checking the freezer door gasket for any tears, or areas where it's not sealing properly. Also check the dispenser ice door to make sure it completely closed. I would also suggest inspecting the ice container to make sure no water is dripping that can eventually freeze it over.
Out of the possibilities mentioned above, the ice door being stuck into a slightly open position is the most common and I suspect that is where the issue will stem from. Hopefully this helps.
If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-349-5071, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.
