Question and Answers

Q:

Refrigerator door pops open on its own KSRB27FHBL02 Kitchenaid Side-by-side refrigerator

Q:

How do I replace the ice guide in my KitchenAid refrigerator model KSRB27FHBL02?

A:

Unplug the refrigerator to disconnect electrical power before accessing components in the dispenser. The parts image below shows the components in the dispenser. Remove the drip tray (Key 9). You will need to remove the front cover assembly (Key 23) next. Use a small flat tip screw driver to pry this cover off. You may need to push up on the over assembly to help release the clips from the door. Tape the screw driver with masking tape to avoid scratching the door. Once you remove this assembly, you can either photograph or mark the wiring connections and then pull off the wires and set the cover assembly to the side. NOTE: If you can pull the switch assembly out of the cover assembly and not remove the wires, this would be better. To access the ice door, remove the screws (Key 22) that secure the control bracket (Key 15) in the dispenser. You can likely pull this part out enough with the wires still attached to access the ice door and determine the cause of your failure.
