Kitchenaid mixer will not go to full speed KSM50P Kitchenaid Mixer

A:

With the mixer not working the way it should can be frustrating. I have done some research on the Manage My Life website and have located a link similar to your issue. While you are waiting for a detailed reply from an expert I have attached the link below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question on the Kitchen aid mixer speed control.

I apologize but we are having some computer problems this morning and the information I need is not available.

From my experience with this and similar problems it sounds like the speed control adjustment screws are out of calibration.

If you unplug the mixer and remove the back cover you will see two screws with springs on the back side and then control the speed settings for the mixer.

If you do not feel comfortable with adjusting these I would suggest that you take the mixer into your local authorized Kitchen aid countertop appliance service station.

It requires some special tools to make sure it is calibrated correctly.

I removed the back cover and adjusted the speed controller as instructed. After adjustment I checked the mixer RPM with a digital tachometer. The RPM's after adjustment are: stir=62 RPM; position #2=90 RPM; position #4=140 RPM; position #6=187 RPM; position #8=234 RPM; position #10 234-~240 RPM. The mixer still does not have the upper end RPM of around 280 RPM. Jeff T.
