Thank you for your question.

I can understand your concern with the compressor being hot.

If the condenser fan is running full speed and the condenser coils are clean there is no other fan to keeps the compressor cool.

The compressor does run hot to the touch normally and if it has been running for awhile, you will not be able to keep your hand on the top of the compressor.

The only other fan is the one for the evaporator in the freezer to circulate the cold air inside the refrigerator.

If you are having cooling problems you may have to have a service technician check out the sealed system on your refrigerator.

I am not able to provide you with a technical manual.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I can understand your concern. The information you have received about the compressor is correct. I suspect from the information listed that this refrigerator is not cooling good or not at all. This model does not have a thermostat but instead a board that controls how it runs. I also suspect the fan you are referring to is the condenser fan next to the compressor. If it doesn't run, the compressor will overheat and quit. It is possible, the relay on the compressor, could be causing the compressor, to have a hard time starting. A technician would be needed to make this check. However, if the fan motor quits, it will be normal for the compressor to get hot and quit running, when the internal thermal overload trips. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
