Most likely if the set is on then the main processing board is the problem. The main processing board cost about$300 just for the part.

How do I shorten the time the volume bar stays on my Sony TV?

A:

There is no setting adjustment for the on screen graphics and how long they stay up in this set. Since this TV is a monitor you probably have a set top box connected to it. See if you can change the audio output on the box from fixed to variable, and control the volume on the box. The delay on the box might be better than the TV. Adding a stereo or home theater between the source and the theater might be another option for you.
