Question and Answers

Q:

Remove Micro Door panels

A:

Microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a lethal electrical charge of up to 2200 VAC -- even when the microwave is unplugged. Repairs and adjustments, even minor ones such as , can cause microwave leakage. A microwave shielding leakage test should be performed after any microwave service. It is for these safety reasons that we are unable to guide you in microwave repairs and instead recommend scheduling service with a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME. We thank you for your understanding in this matter and hope we can help you with other questions and repairs in the future. Below is a link to setup service.

Marc, I am trying to gain access to the door handle, not the interior of the unit. Think about this again. How do I gain access to the door handle screw. There are 3 screws on the edge of the door. I took those out but I am hesitant to just pry the parts apart. Is there some easy way to "pop" the layered door sections apart so I can replace the handle? Thanks

Thank you for submitting your question. Bill, Marc has provided you with the correct information regarding microwave repair. Microwaves are a safety hazard and we do not recommend them as do it yourself repairs. Even for something as simple as changing the door handle. They pack a lot of power and shielding leakage test must be performed after every repair. It's for these reasons that Manage My Life is unable to assist customers in microwave repairs or troubleshooting. I also recommend scheduling for service. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
