Question and Answers

Q:

How to I switch back from lp to natural gas? It was converted years ago to propane and now I want to go back to natural gas. KGYS850LQ1 Kitchenaid Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kitchenaid Gas Dryer. A gas conversion, even when switching back to natural gas, should always be completed by a qualified technician. I have included the link for the installation manual for this dryer.

Kitchenaid Dryer KGYS850LQ1 Installation Manual.

The manual will have the conversion information from natural gas to propane. Your technician will need to reverse these instructions. The technician will be able to determine if the conversion can be completed with just the natural gas (type 1) orifice, part number 234826, or if the complete burner assembly, part number W10465748, will be required.

Sears does not provide gas conversions services. If your local gas supply company does not perform gas conversions, they can normally refer you to a locally based qualified technician who can.

I hope this answers your question. If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
