Question and Answers

Q:

Oven Display Panel went out KGRC707LBS0 Kitchenaid Free standing gas range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the display issue you're having with the Kitchenaid range. I know how frustrating that is.

This sounds like a shorted relay in one of the electronic boards. It could be with the power board itself, the display board, or a wiring connection between them. Due to the cost of the boards, and their sensitivity during install, we would recommend having a service technician help assist with the diagnosis and repair.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I was not able to locate any model specific step by step instructions on how to remove the control panel on this model but you are correct in removing the screws along the bottom of the control panel. It may also have one screw on each side of the end caps too. You may need to slide the range out a little to see if there is a screw on each side of the control panel. You also will need to remove all the burner knobs before the console can be lifted and removed. The glass console will likely have a set of wires connected to the electronic oven control that will need to be disconnected after you pivot the control panel forwards before you remove the control panel glass. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The oven is not going to operate if your not able to program the oven.  The failure could be any one of the three components that make up the controls. It could have a faulty glass key panel, faulty display board or a faulty power board. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your range. It will require making many voltage measurements at different points in order to properly diagnose the failure.

Depending on which part(s) have failed, it could cost as much as $900.00 just for the parts.

You can have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.
