Q:

Oven Temperature Sensor Bad? KERA205PSS4 Kitchenaid Free standing - electric

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your range. Upon researching model KERA205PSS4; you can unplug the range power cord and remove the oven temperature sensor when the oven is not hot. With the sensor removed you can test the sensor for continuity using a multi meter. If the test reads continuity then the sensor is ok. If the sensor or is test reads no continuity then the sensor may need to be replaced. I have posted a link of the sensor to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Thank you for contacting ManageMyLife.com regarding your KitchenAid free standing electric range. I know it can be frustrating when the unit flashes an error code and beeps. I'm happy to help you today.

Knowing what error code your range flashes, will help better diagnose the issue. If the off button is not working, you may have a stuck or shorted key on the keypad and the membrane switch (part number varies by color of your range) or the electronic control (p/n 9762811) will need to be replaced.

Membrane switch:

  • White- p/n 9762104
  • Black- p/n 9762101
  • Biscuit- p/n 9762102
  • Stainless Steel- p/n 9762103

In the image below my response, I included the instructions for running the diagnostic mode, in order to recall the last failure code. If the range is flashing F2E0 or F2E1, these two error codes will indicate an issue with the keypad or electronic control. You should be able to access the ribbon cable to the to the membrane and control board by removing the back panel on the rear of the range. You will need to pull the range away from the wall and please be sure to disconnect the range from all power.

Parts can be purchased from Sears PartsDirect. If you do not feel comfortable repairing this issue yourself, service can be scheduled at the following link: Sears Home Services.

I really hope this information helps you today. For further assistance, please respond to this thread with more detail. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

I recommend that you pull the drawer completely out and examine the components. Pull the drawer out all of the way until it stops. You can then lift up the back of the drawer and pull it completely out of the range. Check for an item in the bottom of the range where that drawer fits. Check the rail for damage or an obstruction. Check the drawer for damage. This may help you find the cause of that problem. If you need parts, you can order them from this page: KitchenAid Range KERA205PSSR Drawer and Broiler Parts . It is difficult to anticipate which parts that you may need without physically examining the range. After pulling the drawer out, you may just need to properly slide it back onto the tracks to fix this problem without replacing any parts.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine the range and fix this problem, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
