Question and Answers

Q:

kitchenAid superba oven MOD# kebs107dss11

A:

The self clean on ovens is a great feature, but I see you have no oven since. The expert will review this model to respond, but if there are any error codes displaying, it may help the expert diagnose. I attached the online owner's manual if you do not have that to check. I also added the link to Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule a technician to help. Both links are below. I hope these links help.

I recommend that you check the house circuit breakers or house fuses for the oven. There is a chance that one of the house fuses for the L2 leg of power is blown. The circuit breakers for the L1 and L2 legs of 240 volt power are normally connected together by a clip. If you have house circuit breakers for the oven, you can shut them off and then turn them back on. This may restore power to the oven on the L2 voltage side so that the elements will heat.

If that does not help, then you could have a blown thermal fuse on the back outside wall of that oven cavity. The wiring diagram for your range is shown in the first image below. The L2 leg of voltage is traced in red to that thermal fuse. The second image shows the parts diagram with that thermal fuse circled in red. You can shut off the house circuit breakers for the oven (or remove the house fuses) and check that thermal fuse for continuity as shown in this video . You should be able to access that fuse by pulling the oven out of the cabinet and removing the outside back panel. NOTE: That oven will be heavy. Two or more persons may be needed to safely pull that oven out of the cabinet . That power cord pigtail will limit the distance that you can pull that oven out of the cabinet. Depending on the height of the oven, you may be able to set it down on a chair or table just in front of the cabinet.

If that thermal fuse is blown, it will need to be replaced. You can order that part from this page: Thermostat for KitchenAid Superba Oven Model KEBS107DSS11 . Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the oven before accessing and replacing that component.

If that thermal fuse is okay, then you could have a wiring failure or a problem with the control board that is causing this problem. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
