Question and Answers

Q:

What replacement glass fora built-in Kitchen-aid oven?

A:

I can understand how important it is to have the right parts for the repair. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I was able to do some research on the parts. The only time you should replace the glass, is if there is damage to it. I suggest that you inspect the two pieces for any cracks or chips. If there are then yes you would need to replace them. The part number for #7 is 9759223 . This is different from #24. If there is no damage then you should be okay. I hope this helps.

Thanks for responding! My question is, I only see 2 panes of glass in the dorr right now. I believe they are # 3 and #24. This is after #12 shattered. I do not see a mounting place for #7 however. From the diagram, it looks llike it is mounted right next to #24 I think I will purchase just #12 and hope I don't need #7. Does that make sense? Are there 4 panes of glass in this door or three? i only see mounting for three. Thanks again for responding.

Since that outer glass is the only part that broke, you should only need to replace that piece of glass. The parts 7 and 24 mounted together inside the door. You should not need to disturb those inner components. I provided a procedure for disassembling that door in the image below just in case you need it. That door is slightly different than the one on your oven but the basic procedure is the same.
