Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your questions about your television. I am so sorry you are having problems with it. I know the TV is a key component in our daily lives and know you want to get it working quickly. In this case I recommend you have this tested and repaired by a qualified technician. Internal components of the TV can retain dangerous high electrical charges even when the TV is disconnected from the power supply.

Here at SearsPartsDirect.com, we love to help you with your home repairs but in this case, for your safety, we recommend you have the TV serviced. If you would like a Sears technician to complete the repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I hope we can help you with any future repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

The problem with the TV is the optical block. The optical block creates the picture and then projects it up to the screen. The cost for the optical block replacement would be about $1000. Replacement of the TV would be a better option.

From what I can tell you should have pressed the # 1 before you pressed 3, mute, and enter. You should have been able to reset the lamp timer in the regular menu. The problem with making changes in the service menu is that stuff can get messed up and typically cannot restored. All the factory settings are stored on the main processing board, A1 part number A1205144B, and would have to be replaced.
