This would most likely be caused by the BU board. The BU boards does all the video processing. The part number is A1547091A.

Note: Working on a TV can be difficult due to the high voltage circuits inside. Always remember to unplug any TV before trying to work on it.

A:

Good morning.... I can understand your confusion. I did some research and the closest link I could find, that is relevant to your situation is below. Thinking in reverse, the link suggest that if the TV doesn't come on it may be a fuse issue. Review this data and I will forward your question to an expert who will investigate the matter further and get back to you. You will hear from them within two business days if not sooner. Until you hear from us, have a nice day.

Thank you for respose. Maybe I wasn't correct. When I press power button, tv turns on and I can see this by Sony logo lighting up. Then in approximately 7 seconds it turnes to standy mode. Normally, in standby mode light does not blink, it is constant. But if it blinks, like in my case, it indicates problem with internal parts. Thank you. Alex.

Hello Alex,

Note: Working on a TV can be difficult and dangerous due to the high voltage circuits inside. Always remember to unplug any TV before trying to service it and if unsure of the proper procedures, seek the service of a trained professional.

I'm sorry to hear that your television will not turn on and I would like to assist you. Thank you for clarifying the number of blinks. If it is for sure six, this is an indication of a backlight failure. The power supply, inverter boards, main board or even the panel can cause this issue to occur. The backlights are driven by a lot of current and are extremely dangerous to work with. I suggest having a local television service diagnose the television or follow this link: Sears Home Services to arrange a repair with a Sears television technician. In either case, they will likely be able to determine the specific failure point. I do want you to know that if it is a panel failure the set will not be able to be repaired, panels are very expensive and can cost more than a replacement television and sometimes are not available.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.

Hello Don, I'm sorry to hear that your television will not turn on and that you have a code. The 13 blink is usually due to one of the fluorescent backlight tubes failing. This is not industry accepted as repairable and the standard repair is to replace the LCD panel as an assembly. Even if you were to replace the faulty lamp, sourcing the parts will be very difficult to say the least. There is a chance that the inverter board has an issue, but I suggest contacting a local television repair service or following this link: Sears Home Services, in order to schedule a repair. Please let me know if you would like any further assistance. Jerry C
