Q:

Do I need two diffusion plates for my Sony Model KDF60XS955 TV? KDF60XS955

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Sony television model KDF60XS955. I am so sorry the diffusion plates need to be replaced. I know the TV is a key part of our daily lives and know you want to get it fixed quickly. There are two diffusion plates. I have included the links below for you to order the parts. Click on the Add to Cart button to see the current pricing.

In this case, I recommend you order the parts and have the TV repaired by a qualified technician when you receive the plates. We do not give diagnostic or repair advice on televisions because internal components in the TV can retain a dangerously high electrical charge, even when the TV is disconnected from the power supply. Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your home repairs but in this case, for your safety, we recommend you have the TV serviced. To set up service go to www.SearsHomeServices.com or call 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I hope we can help you with any future repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

I can see your having issues with your TV. An expert will be able to provide you with a detailed response. It usually takes 24-48 hours to receive a response. If you'd like to schedule service I have attached a link from the Sears Home Services website below. Have a good day.

I do not have a service manual I can provide you. The 6 blink error code is typically a thermal fuse issue. The thermal fuse is located inside the TV under the lamp area. The back would have to be removed and several components removed to get to the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse part number is 191002393.

Note: Working on a TV can be difficult due to the high voltage circuits inside. Always remember to unplug any TV before trying to work on it.
