Question and Answers

Why won't my KitchenAid washer spin?

I must assume the motor is not running when it should drain and spin. If the washer will not run at all during any drain and spin cycle would indicate a broke lid switch. If the lid switch is good you should hear a faint click noise as you raise and lower the lid. If you do not hear the faint click of the lid switch, it is likely broken. The lid switch is mounted under the top. In order to access and replace the lid switch will require removing the washer cabinet from the base.

Remove each screw located at the bottom of each control panel end caps (Key#4) and follow the instructions I added in the image below.

The lid switch is part# 3949247. I added a link Sears Parts Direct with the lid switch looked up for you. Click on "Switch" to open.

I added an image below with the instructions on removing the washer cabinet.
