Question and Answers

Why is my Kitchen Aid washer not going into the spin cycle?

If the motor is running in spin then you do not need the timer replaced. From what you described it sounds like the basket drive or clutch is causing the problem. If the motor is running & the washer will not spin or agitate I suspect the motor coupling. If the motor is running in agitate & you hear knocking I suspect the transmission. Please resubmit with more details. We need to know if the motor is running or not when the unit should be agitating & spinning, separately.

Once we know the outcome of the diagnosis we will know if the unit is worth repairing or not.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
